Several pets in Sussex are looking for their forever homes, including at the Sussex North & Brighton branch of the RSPCA.

Whether you want to adopt a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, there is plenty of choice.

A few animals from the branch are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

To help the Sussex North & Brighton branch carry on their work you can donate to them at the website here.

Elsie

Gender - Female

Age - Three years old

Breed - Poodle (Standard) crossbreed

Colour - Beige

Elsie came into the care of the RSPCA after being tied up outside the front gates of the centre.

At first, she was incredibly nervous and in a lot of discomfort due to her multiple wounds and a deep laceration on her paw.

The RSPCA adds: "After several vet visits and numerous tests we discovered she had Leishmaniasis and was very anaemic and weak and we were unsure whether she would recover. However, Elsie is a fighter and has amazed us all!"

Leishmaniasis is a lifelong condition which could cause Elsie to have bad flare-ups that will affect her skin and energy levels.

However, the RSPCA believes that with her treatment plan this is manageable and she can live a long and happy life.

Bonnie

Gender - Female

Age - Two years old

Breed - Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed

Colour - Red and White

If you want to adopt Bonnie you can view their full profile here.

Bonnie is described as a "special girl" who is looking for a particular home to move into.

She is an anxious dog so can be very wary of new people and be worried in new situations.

Bonnie can bond well with people but takes a little time, patience and plenty of treats.

She will need to be in an adult-only home with owners who have experience with nervous dogs and ideally bull breeds.

Tom

The Argus: TomTom (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - 13 years old

Breed - Domestic Longhair crossbreed

Colour - Black

If you want to adopt Tom you can view their full profile here.

Tom came into the care of the RSPCA after his owner surrendered him and he is now looking for a retirement home.

At first, he was very frightened, but after spending time in foster care he now enjoys human company a bit more.

He likes fuss and attention, although he isn’t confident enough to be picked up with ease.

The RSPCA adds: "In his next home, Tom will need a separate room he can have to himself for settling in initially. He will be scared at first so he will need plenty of time, space and encouragement."
